The Province of Ontario declared a state of emergency in response to the Covid pandemic March 17, 2020. In a concerted effort to control the spread of infection, the province instituted regulations to stay at home, minimize outings, initiate social distancing and limit access to essential services only.
The State of Emergency has been extended to July 15, 2020. Toronto, Mississauga, Brampton and Caledon continue at STAGE 1 of reopening within the Regional framework.
Forks of the Credit Provincial Park was recently advertised on social media as one of the best parks to visit. Three plus million people live within 30-45 minutes of this park. Last weekend, 10,000 + visitors were in this park. The Town of Caledon, Ministry of Natural Resources, Caledon OPP, EMS and Fire services were all in attendance to deal with this emergency incident.

Traffic Calming Techniques, Region of Peel traffic data collection re: speed and visitor numbers, and Caledon Parking were shared. There will be further updates on these topics.

I don’t know what the town is proposing but if we are in a State of Emergency then there should be no parking period in Belfountain. The intensity of the last few weeks means we are still in lockdown in our yards because the streets are teeming. If business insist on selling coffee then they should clean the bins pick up the debris, PPE and other souvenirs left every Sunday and Monday morning.
